Professor Yihao Zhou is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with a joint appointment in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University. Prior to that, he earned his B.S. in Materials Physics from Nanjing University.

 

His research interests lie at the intersection of soft materials, bioelectronics, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on developing materials-driven and AI-assisted bioelectronics for digital and precision health. His research areas include soft functional materials, wearable bioelectronics, portable medical devices, and biomedical implants. By integrating theoretical analysis, computational modeling, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, he develops personalized bioelectronic devices to address unmet healthcare needs, with applications ranging from cancer screening to cardiovascular disease detection.
